The Spirit Endowment Fund

The Spirit Endowment Fund was established in 1998 to provide scholarships to those in need and support programs of the Franciscan Spirituality Center (FSC). Donors to this endowment become our partners in the growth and development of FSC and share in our ministry forever

Your Gift is Doubled

An anonymous donor is matching gifts to the Spirit Fund Endowment through 2006. Hence, we are doubly blessed by any gift you make.

Your Gift is Tax Deductible

Because we are a ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, your gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. For this reason we ask that you make gifts payable to FSPA.

Ways of Giving

As a legal not-for-profit corporation, we gratefully accept gifts in many forms.  Here are some ways to become partners with us and share in our ministry.

Cash

Contributions of cash make a quick and simple gift. Such gifts, regardless of size, are appreciated and help FSC in fulfilling its mission.

Securities

By contributing long-term, appreciated stock, bonds, or mutual funds, you can realize significant tax benefits, including a charitable deduction and no capital gains tax.

Memorial/Tribute

A memorial gift in memory of a deceased person or a tribute gift to honor someone on a special occasion is a wonderful way to celebrate the life and friendship of a loved one. Your gift will not only remember the person honored but will carry on the important ministry of the FSC.

Planned Gift

A gift made now but given when a death or some future event occurs creates a lasting testimony and leaves your mark on history. A donor who has indicated she/he has remembered FSC in her/his will becomes a part of the Perpetual Circle of Angels.

Planned gifts may be made in a variety of ways:

  • Gifts through your will or estate plan cost you nothing today but will benefit FSC's future work. A simple sentence can be added to your plan such as “I bequeath ($____, or ____%, or specific property, or residual) to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, for their ministry of the Franciscan Spirituality Center.”
  • Assets can be put into a charitable trust which can have tax benefits for you as donor. Income can either come to you with the principal going to the charity upon your death, or income can go to the charity with the principal distributed to your children or other beneficiary upon your death.
  • Life insurance is a way to make a substantial gift to a charity. FSPA would be the beneficiary on your policy and would receive the proceeds at your death.
  • You may also designate a gift of securities, bonds, IRAs, or mutual funds in your estate plan.

Our legal title is “Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, Inc.”

Always consult and estate planning attorney for proper legal advice.  Should you wish to make a bequest restricted for the Franciscan Spirituality Center, please contact us so we may create the wording necessary to accomplish your intentions.
