The Nonviolent Jesus

In a world of violence injustice and war, the gospel invites us to live a new life of creative nonviolence and peace. It teaches that Jesus was nonviolent. His followers have to be nonviolent people who 'put down the sword' and 'love our enemies.' This morning we will reflect on the nonviolence of Jesus and what it means for ourselves.

The Beatitudes of Peace

This afternoon we will look at Jesus' teachings of nonviolence in the Sermon on the Mount. Beginning with the Beatitudes, we will reflect on how we can become peacemakers. We will dicuss what it means to be Beatitude people who practice peace and nonviolence for the rest of our lives.
